Volunteer Leadership - Board Membership
Executive coaching and evaluation (on behalf of the board); facilitating big questions and tough issues; leading strategic planning processes and retreats; training to groups and one-on-one on topics including board development, leadership development, staff teams and culture.
The privilege and responsibility of leading a board is immense. Your passion for the mission of the organization is evident.
You're a volunteer but understand that board membership is a job.
And it's a lot of work especially if there is imbalance somewhere in the organization.
There are clear lines - the board chair runs the board and the CEO/ED leads the organization. But what happens when the lines are blurred and there are bumps in the road. It can get messy.
Here are some areas where I can help...
The CEO/ED hasn't had a real review in years and it needs to happen (time to manage up or manage out).
Your board thinks it has done strategic planning but the organization just never gains traction.
There has been tremendous staff turnover and a poor culture and you're not sure how to address it.
Board members aren't showing up to meetings and there is a lack of engagement.
Your relationship with the ED/CEO isn't as effective as you think it should be and you're not entirely sure what it should look like.
Your organization needs to do strategic planning but many board members aren't clear what the process should be or if it will be effective.
Your organization is currently in Executive Search Mode. Ensure your new leader's success with on boarding and coaching during the executive transition.
And, there's so much MORE to talk about because nonprofit organizations can be complex.
Coaching Services - Board Leadership
Board leadership coaching may look a little different than the coaching for your staff leader. It may require 3 months, 6 months or 2 conversations.
Nonprofit strategy, leadership and consulting services are available.
A discovery call is typically the best course of action in these cases to determine the situation, stakeholders and potential course of action.
